Major Study Shows Abortion Leads To Major Mental Health Problems

Women who have had an abortion have experienced an 81-percent increased risk of mental health problems according to a study published in this month's (September 2011) British Journal of Psychiatry.

The study by Priscilla Coleman, a professor at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, involved 877,181 participants of whom 163, 831 had an abortion.

It shows that risks of anxiety and depression each rose by over a third after an abortion, while the rates of suicidal behaviors and drug use more than doubled.

The conclusion of the study calls into question the conclusions from traditional reviews and reveals  a moderate to highly increased risk of mental health problems after abortion.

"Consistent with the tenets of evidence-based medicine, this information should inform the delivery of abortion services, " it says.

If there is a way to lose the GOP will probably find it by backing someone who is not appealing to Conservatives - as they did with McCain. On the other hand, Conservatives need to be practical as well as principled when selecting a candidate who will make sure Obama is a one-term President. What a nightmare if he gets re-elected. By executive order (Dream Act) and carte blanche regulatory power (Card Check, Cap and Trade), this administration has already demonstrated arrogant disregard for the will of both Congress and the American people. Just imagine what abuses of power will be meted out in a second term!

As far as an opponent for the ineffective and ever-comatose Casey, there are rumors that David Christian from Bucks County will run. He is a decorated Vietnam war hero and a successful businessman. Great guy but a bit wary about jumping in since Casey has Papa's name recognition and more than 3 million dollars in his campaign chest.
